India Budget 2025: CITI calls for DBT scheme in cotton procurement

CITI has urged the government to replace the cotton procurement system with a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme in the 2025–26 Budget.
CCI is expected to acquire 25–35 per cent of this season’s cotton output due to market prices falling below the MSP.
CITI also proposed a Cotton Price Stabilisation Fund to address price volatility and ensure competitive raw material availability.Read More
