Italian footwear exports down 9.2% YoY in Jan-Sept 2024

Italy’s footwear sector saw a drop in main indicators in the first nine months of 2024.
Exports fell by 9.2 per cent YoY in value, with a sharp order reduction.
The Istat index of industrial production fell by 8.9 per cent YoY and turnover dropped by 9.7 per cent YoY.
Exports to the EU fell by 2.6 per cent YoY, while exports to France dropped by 2 per cent YoY and to Germany by 6.2 per cent YoY.Read More

ILO & BGMEA meet to tackle workplace safety in Bangladesh’s RMG sector

Tuomo Poutiainen, country director of the ILO, met with BGMEA administrator Anwar Hossain and support committee member ANM Saifuddin on January 5 at the BGMEA Complex.

Lithuania’s Apranga Group achieves record Dec turnover of $37.84 mn

Apranga Group achieved a record retail turnover of €36.7 million (~$37.84 million) in December (+9.1 per cent YoY) and €102.8 million (~$106 million) in Q4 2024 (+8.0 per cent YoY).
Annual turnover reached €354.2 million (~$365.2 million), up by 8.5 per cent YoY, with Lithuania at €211.8 million (+7.6 per cent), Latvia at €90.7 million (+14.1 per cent), and Estonia at €51.7 million (+3.4 per cent).Read More

Bangladesh’s RMG exports surge 13% to $19.8 bn in Jul-Dec 2024

From July to December 2024, Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports rose by 13.28 per cent to $19.887 billion.
Growth was led by woven and knitwear garments, with notable increases in home textile and cotton product exports.
This growth marked an improvement from the previous fiscal year’s performance, despite a downward revision in historical export data by Bangladesh’s new regime.Read More
